Good day all! Recently received notice that my interview was successful and an offer is being prepared. I have read and read and re-read as much of the forum as I can digest and have to admit to being astounded at the generosity and consideration given by the mods and the Aramcons to those of us joining or about to join in the adventure. Props to you all!
I expect that I will have a number of questions specific to my own special, cloistered world, in which I am the most important person and all of my issues are paramount, but having heard all of that nonsense before, you can certainly choose to add your typical grains of salt to my self-absorption.
I am interested in hearing more about the differences between "bachelor" and "single" statuses; I believe that bachelor refers to a married person living alone and carries with it a different enlement to leave, whereas single connotes an unmarried person with no legal attachment. If I am correct (and I often believe that I am!), does North American legal status (separated, divorced) enter into the consideration? I am a currently separated Canadian male with a significant (very significant) female partner who will not be joining me should I be successful, so I am curious about how and under what circumstances she could join me "in-camp" if at all or if any future rendezvous should be out of country?
My appreciation for the dedicated mods would increase exponentially if one of you could email me a typical 1bed layout, with usual monthly costs. I have gleaned the other costs (DSL, in-country mobile, satellite, washer/dryer, and furniture rental) from the numerous posts and understand that specifics are probably best handled by email or PM.
For reference, I am expecting to be in DHA as a GC13 (Office Systems yst I), alone but for my laptop, iPod, books, golf clubs, and amazing sense of humour.
