Not sure about Sky exactly but a lot of people use VPN to generate an IP address from UK and watch all the stuff on iPlayer etc. www.vpntraffic.com/index.php?act ... ont_id=457 The link is just an example, ask around when you get here to find out which one works best. Personally I don't use a VPN as there aren't any programmes that I really miss that much from home. OSN is very similar to Sky, lots of movie channels, documentaries etc. If you're after the football, Al Jazeera has just signed up the Premiership again (it was ADMC last year). It was $50 a year for Al Jaz but it's increased to $19 a month due to more sport than ever. You can choose from many games (10 channels & 6 HD) and it's a lot of the commentators from home. You can't get it through satellite, only through the net. You may also find that there are lots of small local TV shops that can install a satellite dish and decoder to get you channels from all around the world.

You can get all of Al Jazeeras channels via satellite, you just need to get the Al Jazeera card which can be used in your old ADMC box or Iv been told it will also work in your OSN box which should have two card slots

Just to answer part of the original question, the Sky satellite signal does not reach Saudi Arabia.
