o All, we are scheduled to arrive in Ras Tanura next week insha . Does anyone know if we can get the cell phone connections and a preloaded internet stick from the commissary or do we have to go out of the compound to get it?

update on this topic, we arrived here yesterday. I was unable to get the sim cards at Ras Tanura commissary without the iqama, however right after the orientation we were dropped off at the STC shop in al mujama building (Dhahran camp). I was able to get 2 sim cards and a 4g wifi router (pre-loaded with 3 months unlimited data) for about 500 SAR by only showing temporary aramco ID and copy of the passport with aramco stamp.

I can confirm this to the last detail, did exactly the same thing, same price.
The 4G STC-router (it is a Huawei model that looks like a small pebble) runs well in DHA and ok in RT: there, you better put it outside the windows since most of the glass especially of the newer windows tends to contain some metal that blocks at least part of the signal.

Guys, you just changed my day :-)
I am arriving in Ras Tanura on Nov 1st and one of the most important things to me at the moment is making sure I can get a connection from day one to chat with my family and children back home (until they join me...), I have heard of people being left without internet for 2-3 weeks and was desperate to find a solution.

You can get wi-fi access at the Carlton. Its a little cafe between the pool and the dining hall.
It isn't the best connection (better than the library) but it will be your only link to the outside world until Saudi Aramco gets around to providing a logon.
