o All,
I was wondering what VoIP services existing Aramco folks have used and which ones have been good/bad? I read most people use Vonage but that is also the most expensive VoIP service out there. Has anyone tried other services like Phone Power? Packet8? Ooma? Magic Jack Plus?
Our destination is Rakkah and wanted to gather information so we can initiate porting our US number to VoIP.
It would be great (for me and others) if people can respond with the name of phone service, level of satisfaction (1-5), approximate cost (incl tax) and any pros and cons.
Thanks.

To me the initial cost to buy the Vonage "box" (from Wal Mart) and monthly cost is minimal. I looked at the other options like BasicTalk which I think is a Vonage product and can only work in the States, and Magic Jack. Everyone I know that works for Saudi Aramco uses Vonage so that is what I chose. It was easy to initially set up but will see how hard it is to get up and running once I arrive the first week of September.

I recently moved to Rakkah and brought with me magic jack from best buy. I also had Vonage back in Houston for the past 6-7 years. The reason I switched to magic jack is because its cheaper than Vonage and quite satisfied with their service.

Thanks for your replies!
I was reading on some VoIP forums that Magic Jack blocks quite a few numbers and also puts limits on long calls. Sometimes you would get disconnected in 10 minutes. Have you experienced that?
