o All,
Does anyone know how much is offered by SA if I opt not to ship my personal items from UK please?
Deciding if its worth shipping home items from UK or buying there but unsure how much is offered by SA.
Thanks very much.

Your relocation advisor will be able to give you an estimated figure to help you decide.

Unless you are really attached to certain items, take the cash and buy here. It's a nice figure and I don't think anyone has been disappointed with the amount given.

On what bases do they calculate the payment on?

Sorry Buster but I disagree, the value of my shipment was over 6 times the cash amount offered. It is definitely down to personal circumstances, what would it cost you to buy items that you already have, again?

Hi there Can someone share a rough value. Let's assume it for someone coming from UK.
Cheers

If you do a search on the forum for "cash in lieu" you will find 8 pages of posts discussing it.

coming from the UK, we got a very good CIL amount and we were happy with it. its calculated from the point of origin so someone coming from Bradford may get a different amount from someone coming from Brighton. Also depends on the number of dependents.
