Hi,
my relocation adviser just mentioned to me that Abqaiq is now full and we are to be housed in an apartment block elsewhere. I know housing inside the compound is based on availability but I am not sure how the location of my offer can be changed last minute considering the location is not acceptable to us.
I am trying escalate this however would like to know if anyone else has heard of this?
Thanks.

Yes, it is occurring because of the housing shortage.
Your offer probably states something about housing being subject to availability. Actual housing is assigned the week of your arrival. Projected availability may not be there when you finally are ready to arrive.
The apartment complex being assigned right now is the Dhahran Tower. You can google it, it is in Khobar. There is a discussion Group for this housing complex on the index page under Living in Aramco Communities. People are already posting about this compound.
You can always turn down the offer. If the compounds are full, then there isn't much Aramco can do for you. No one gets to choose where they are housed. There are many people already not housed where they are working and as housing comes available in the main camps, all these people who are eligible for the style of house that is available, bid on the house in the compound, the person bidding with the most points wins the house.
You get housing points for GC and the length of time you have been here for newbies.

There is space if there is a house available at the time of your arrival. Otherwise full.

Hi Vpainter Can you please send me the floor plan for 3 bedroom house in Abqaiq?

Many thanks and regards

Hi
I’m from west Europe and just received an offer to work in Dhahran with a GC 14, family status. The offer doesn’t specify the location of housing. It just says housing will be assigned according to availability. Is there any advantage based on GC? Where can I expect to be located? I kwon that Dhahran camp is impossible, but I would be happy with RT or ABQ. Are these camps full? What can I expect?
Thanks

o Ricardo, I received your private message but for some reason I'm not able to send you a privat message as well. We are on the final stage, just waiting for the visa, we still don't now the arrival date yet. But I did a lot of ressearch (concern of moving to midle east) and I think i can help. If you or your wife want to send me a e-mail I will be happy to help. susanna.peters@gmail.com
