Hi vpainter, My hubby has his badge number and we've passed all contingencies except we have another week until we receive results of the visa medical. You sent us some fabulous info and photos. Do you also have some possible floor plans you could send? (GC11 teachers with one child.) We're in the fun stage of deciding what we'll bring and what we should sell/give away. Thank you so much!

arkansasteacher - we're in the same stage as you guys...it was fun for about 30 seconds...do you guys have an estimated departure date yet? ASC should have sent our passports in late last week (or early this week) for the visa stamp (already have a visa le) so we should have those back in a couple weeks. We're anticipating a mid-August move but haven't been given a departure date as of yet.

Hi O & G, Just met with movers today...apparently our belongings are overweight - too many children's books and teaching materials! Looks like we have more paring down to do before we depart first week of August. We have a 10 year old daughter, do you have any kids? I look forward to meeting you!

Just a note, for us anyway, the shipping estimator's estimate was way over our actual poundage. He said we would be over, but we were under. But you would have to be willing to pay the difference or......We had them pack a couple of boxes that we would remove if when they took the containers to be weighed and we were over. We got permission up front to pack it all and have it weighed, if over weight we would go and remove those boxes.

arkansasteacher - we've been slowly chipping away at the things we need to bring so hopefully we aren't overweight but I guess we'll see. We haven't talked to any movers yet though. Our kids are 2, 4, and 6 who are all very excited about the upcoming adventure!
vpainter - I like your idea of having a couple boxes of things that aren't essential that could get left behind if need be. I'm almost thinking that we'll reduce our current belongings down as low as we can and if for some reason we're overweight then just suck it up and pay for the extra charge. 5000kg sure seems like a lot but I bet that gets eaten up in a real hurry.

hardyjamel,
Hi, Is 135 cm width of the bed? Can we easily get them replaced with a Queen Size (US 153 cm × 203 cm) bed?
Thanks!

The Furniture Warehouse has some queen beds. If you get a double bed and want a queen size, you can call and ask for it to be exchanged. If one is not available, two twins equal a king and you could put two of them together, or some people have just added a twin to the double and gotten a bigger bed.

Hi vpainter,
GC11 family status with two children and i am waiting for the visa block. Work location is Dahran so i assume that a house will be assigned to me at Abqaiq. (is it possible to be elsewhere?) I would like also some photos of a three bedroom typical house.
Thanks
