Hi All,
Weighing up options whether to take up a position with SA to live and work in RT. Offered family status (contingent on OOP approval)??
SA are requesting an answer to the offer of employment within 7 days but not sure if the above statement (OOP approval) means I have family status or not?? I will not take job if wife and children cannot come. Any ideas please??
Its weekend here in UK so was hoping to get a reply from you guys before monday or else I will just call them at AOC, London for clarification.
Next question is are there any families (Brits) with young children living in RT?
I would be relocating with wife and two children (2 boys aged 6 and 4) and would like some help to answer many of wifes questions such as schooling for our children in RT, Security, things to do for housewifes etc.....
Thanks very much for you help in advance. This all helps in our decision making process whether to take plunge or not!!

You could accept the job contingent on you receiving family status. Write that contingency into your acceptance. Then you can turn it down if they do not give you OOP family status.
I will email you a couple of RT contacts. They are more likely to know about British families on camp.

Have no concerns, any British worker GC 11+ will get approval for family status and Yes there are many British families here with young children

OOP is Out of Policy and I believe (I may be wrong) but officially, family status are given to GC15 (or was it for North Americans .... anyway) and above BUT, almost all british worker or those on sterling payroll will be approved (I have never heard of anyone not getting family status) for the OOP. So don't worry.
