Hi VP
thanks for all your great feedback on the various forum. I have some qs on Rakkah:
1. What is the "real" driving time with expected traffic to DH school from Rakkah, some say 30min, some say it can take 50min. Can you please advise if that is the range. I am not to thrill with having our children commuting there , I know the area has a lot of traffic.
2, Will Aramco consider putting some fences for private patios? I think that will greatly benefit and not be that complicated to do.
3. I know there are no Gaes on Rakkah, will Aramco consider some parking shades for vehicles? many compounds in the GCC have those.
Please advise

1. When I went to Rakkah it was a 25 min trip. So the company's official word is that it takes 30 - 35 mins.
2. No one could tell you if they would do this. The area behind the houses is very small and shared by both rows of houses.
3. People in DHA pay themselves to have the shades put up with housing approval. The housing supervisor for Rakkah would let you know if its possible there. Aramco has certain companies you can use when making changes to the houses. All changes require Aramco housing approval. So anything you would like to pay for, visit housing and seek approval.

Hi Vpainter, Amazingly after one year of being rejected at the last minute, one day prior the moving, after passing all medical and BI, and without an explanation, Aramco has extended me another offer on July, 14th. My wife and I were shocked. We are going to accept the offer. It is better than last year and a higher GC . My offer states that my family will be located at the new DLC (Dhahran Local Camp). I already searched the forum and found the location and also the Facebook page of Saudi Scenes. Thanks for posting the link. I also asked for the floor plan at DLC as all the units are identical, however I have not received an answer. Last year on a business trip I did several times basically the same route, from close to DLC to the North Park/Al-Midra Tower and back, at 7:30 AM and at 5:00 PM. It took approx. 20 minutes by car with a driver. On a bus I would expect to be a bit longer, say 35 to 40 minutes max. This makes sense as in the attached bus schedule the school for DH Hills School leaves DLC at 6:50 AM and since the DH Hills school starts at 7:40 AM it makes sense to assume that the school bus would arrive at least 15 minutes before, say 7:25 AM: A 35 minutes ride. Looking forward to go through the whole process again . Ciao

This floor plan is close to what the houses look like. The room called a utility room is actually a study and the bathroom is outside the room in the hall.
