We are finalizing our visa applications and hope to be coming over by mid to late August.
One concern we've encountered is regarding Grade 10-12 school fees. Our offer indicates a certain amount that we will be paid to cover tuition for our 2 high school aged kids.
Looking at the expenses, we will need to pay around $70,000 for both of them. There is also an installment option, which lowers the cost to around $30,000 for the first payment due.
Unless my house sells first, I just don't have that kind of money available. Have any of you had success with Aramco just paying the invoice? I'm not sure why this couldn't be an option if Aramco is going to pay anyways.

There is no provision for the company to pay on your behalf (at least there wasn't when I was involved with EAP) but if you can get an invoice from the school early enough you can then apply for the EAP payment based on that, then pay the school, then present proof of payment to the EAP office.
At least, that's the way I used to do it.

It is my understanding that for the first year of a child's EAP, you provide a copy of the school's acceptance letter and invoice to apply for EAP benefit, which is deposited directly into employee's direct deposit pay bank account. In subsequent years, Aramco would pay the school directly. Someone with kids currently at boarding school, please jump in here. We're a year off from it ourselves, but we've been looking into details lately.
I advise you talk with your relo adv immediately. If the EAP payment won't be in hand until after you've arrived in KSA, this could be problematic given the time frame for school starting, particulatly if your kids need to be at school outside KSA before you arrive. The timing is awkward for you, what with moving, getting employee and dependents' badges, iqamas and visas, HR/direct deposit fully arranged upon arrival, while also putting your kids in school. I wish you all the best and hope the relo adv can help you with the EAP timing.

Not sure about American Payroll but for British Payroll, for the first time EAP application (for Sterling payroll, we can apply from Pre-Reception to A-Levels), only the acceptance letter is needed and an indication of the tuition fees. The money is deposited into your personal account 2-3 days after the online application is approved. Subsequent years, the EAP money is deposited directly into your account at about the same time (so there is no need to re-apply etc). EAP for US Payroll I think goes up to a max of USD48,000 per child IIANM.

Ridealong hasn't been on the forum since, Sept. I do not know if he/she will answer in a timely manner for you.

Thanks vpainter. We went for our medical and orientation last May 06, 2014 and we were able to get clarifications on our questions. We have to pay upfront for the fees and then get reimbursed.

As soon as you have your paperwork saying your child was accepted and papers showing the tuition amount, turn it in to EAP, you can sometimes get the money in advance to pay.
