I am in the process of getting a formal offer(paystubs submitted-notified by ASC that a formal offer is being developed and will be sent in the next two weeks) from Aramco in the Project Management Dept and per my interview it will perhaps be in the Planning and Scheduling field.
I was told in the interview that Aramco has been approached by the Kingdom to build projects that are more like infrastructure projects or projects not necessarily in the Petrochem sector. I was also told that the Project Management Dept is in Dhahran and my home base would be Dhahran. The interviewer stated that I may be sent to other places far away from Dhahran where these projects were being executed. I have applied to come on a family status from the US.
My original application was for a Project Manager position - I have more than 20 years of experience in various project management position and my strengths are definitely in project and program controls where I have worked in the trenches as well and managed, supervised and been directly responsible for large teams for successfully executing large capital expansion programs and projects.
My question is, are there fellow professionals who currently work in the Project Management Department that can shed some light on where the large projects are both in terms of location and type of projects that are outside of the traditional petrochem sector that Aramco is executing on behalf of the Kingdom? Also any brief overview on the structure of the Project Management Department and specifically the Planning and Scheduling and Claims Department and the current existing staff levels of the same would be much appreciated. This was not discussed in my interview and I also did not get a chance to ask this question specifically. Your response would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
