hi all
I am travelling for work to Jeddah and staying for two weeks and need to leave this Saay. Since Aramco procedures take time for travel arrangements, I choose to book hotel my self. GTS is not going to book the hotel until all prior approval formalities are done.

Any tips for good places to stay, prefereably near airport area?

There are a lot of very nice hotels in Jeddah - not too sure about pricing and availability right now due to school holidays.
All the big names are here - Sheraton, Radisson, Crowne Plaza, Rosewood etc but I'm sure you know that already from sites like Booking.com
Traffic can be very busy at peak times so I guess you want to stay close to where you will be working? If that's not too important, hotels along the Corniche as very nice with some like the Al Bilad giving access to private beaches.
The last time I flew from Jeddah airport I stayed in the Radisson Blu on Madinah Road. Also stayed in Le Meridien through Aramco rates. The airport is a little bit out of town so I guess it depends on work location & what you want to do at nights or weekend.
