Hi guys, All my contingencies have been my cleared. My relocation adviser emailed me. She needs my passport for visa Application. Am a US applicant but currently in Canada for work. She asked me to mail in my passport to her for visa But when I arrived Canada I asked the immigration officer if I can mail out my passport. The immigration officer told me the Canadian authority doesn't care if if mail my passport out, But when the mail back to me in canada that my passport will be seized. Then I asked some friends who have been doing visa stuff or years The told me not to worry about, they i should just mailed my passport as a document and that I will be fine.
Any comment or advise pls.

Please check with US state department . My understanding is that mailing passport across international borders in not recommended. Do you have a passport card? If yes, you can use that to cross canada mexican border and have the passport mailed back to your or someone else's US address. Passport card can only used for land travel.
