o Everyone, I've enjoyed reading all your topics. I am curious about the commissary & other grocery stores. My family regularly eats hemp, chia, flax and other (less obscure) seeds. We use coconut oil to cook, and also eat as much organic organic food as we can. I grew up overseas, so I realize how how spoiled in terms of food options us Americans can be-costco now stocks all of these health foods. I'm not sure it's realistic to bring food stuffs, but I am curious about my future options. And what about natural body products-available? Overly expensive, or comparable? Thanks! Granola Mama

You will find some organic foods and there is a very small health food store in Khobar. Lots of seeds here for you to eat. You may have to go to different stores to get all the ones you want, but you can probably find them. Although, we do go through times when things are available and are not.
You may want to bring a supply with you so you'll have them at first and that will give you time to find them in the commissary and other local markets. You can also shop in Bahrain for things you cannot find in KSA when you need them.
Because many items are imported you may find they are more expensive here - food and natural body products. Some things will be cheaper if they are available locally, but if imported can be comparable to overly expensive.

There is a self directed Environmental Group, they bring in a Farmer's market at times and the health food store comes then. Community Information Center (Community Services) in Al Mujamma should have a contact person for that group and they would probably be able to give you directions to the health food store. It's been too long since I have been to it.
Danube has quite alot of the seeds, etc. Have you looked there? It is across from the Meridian Hotel.

You can find organic food and seeds at Lulu hypermarket and Al Danube. Except prices to be a bit expensive since most of the stuff are imported (I found organic almond er for 60 SR). Also, you can still order from iherb (very reasonable shipping prices).

Hi all, I was wondering if this has evolved over time? Is there more organic produce available? Is there anywhere that supplies good quality bone broth?
Or is a trip to Bahrain my best bet?

I am not sure that you can find bone broth here, I have never seen it. I have been happy with the produce selection at most Tamimi’s and Lulu’s (especially the big one in Khobar). I hear Danube is good too. Also Tamimi’s have a health food section with gluten free, keto, vegan/vegetarian and organic options.
