I was interviewed for a "Materials Supply" position in Houston the last week of May. My background fits 100% with the job description. I have 10+ years of experience in a major Canadian oil & gas producer company.
During orientation they were calling one by one to everybody to go to their interviews and all of them were back only after 15-20 minutes. I was one of the last persons to be called for the interview and it was also a very short one for me, just 15 minutes. They only asked the standard question "Tell me about your work experience" then a couple of questions and finally "Why Aramco" and that's it.
One week after the interview I sent a follow up email to the recruiter and she replied that they have determined that my experience did not match their open positions at this time and that she had kept my resume active in her database for another future opportunity within Aramco. Very dissapointing news. In addition I kept in touch with another fellow that stayed in the same hotel the night before the interview and went together in the same shuttle from the hotel to the Aramco office the next morning and was interviewed for the same position and he was given the very same feedback by the recruiter one week after the interview.
I wanted to ask the forum: has anybody had a similar experience?? Would it be really possible that they call me again in the future for another opportunity or should I just forget about Aramco after this feedback?? I really look forward to get another chance at Aramco in the future.
Thank you in advance for your input and comments.
