Hi there
I am considering a move to KSA with Saudi Aramco and understand that as I am female, I do not qualify for family status. I am married and obviously do not want to live on my own without my husband. Can anyone tell me what can be done about this, ie can my husband visit me many times per year, or for certain amount of months, leave and then come back? What happens about a visa for him? Is it a difficult/lengthy and costly process?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
With thanks TCase

You are correct women are not given family status. You can once you are here and have your resident visa and iqama, apply for him a visitor visa. This can be a short or lengthy process, just like the hiring process. 2-3 months is the short end. He may stay as long as the visa allows him to. If it is a multi-entry visa and not a single entry/exit visa, then you can also travel in and out of KSA with him while it is valid. You can apply for an extension for the visa, prior to it expiring.
Once the visa is expired, he would have to be out of the kingdom while you repeat the process.

I am sorry, I accidently clicked on the wrong on and deleted your other post. But I will answer your questions here.
Is there any way for him to live with you permanently? The only way would be for him to get a job in the kingdom and had a sponsor and lived with you. You would not get family status, you would still be in your one BR apt/townhouse. He could also seek employment with Aramco. If he was successful, you would become a casual employee and he would be the primary employee for benefits. Or he could come as single status also, but you neither one would get family status or family housing. No guarantees for vacation time together in that situation.
All single status employees get assigned a 1BR apt or studio or townhouse depending on GC. After you arrive you can get on the bid list and attempt to bid on a 2BR house. At least in DHA.

Thank Vpainter for your response I really appreciate it. I now have another question if I may - if my husband gets a visit visa and we are able to extend it twice (as I believe is possible) how long does he need to be out of the KSA before we are able to apply for another visit visa for him and will he be allowed to stay with me on the compound?
:?

Whether your husband can stay with you will depend on what type of single housing you are assigned to. All employees who have visitors must get approval from housing for them to stay with you when you apply for their visa. So you will know up front if he can stay with you or you need to make other arrangements.
He can be in Kingdom while getting the extensions, but once he must get a new visa he will have to be out of the kingdom until the new visa is obtained. It be a regular visa application so the timeline can vary as seen here on the forum.
