Does anyone know if Aramco direct hires would get housing priority in RT over Sadara employees? Could be the deal clincher for whole family coming over, as we don't want the kids travelling by bus to school from the new compound at such a young age. Hope someone can help.

The Sadara employees I know do not get Aramco housing. Sadara has them in a local compound.

Would it be safe to say that people working in RT should be living in RT? Relocation advisor is hopeful of this, but just wondering what the housing situation is at the moment? Can anyone help???

Does the housing department try to house new hires as close to the work location as possible? And if so, could anyone tell me the current situation with housing in RT? We're due to re-locate in April. BI and medicals passed and now have the Visa. Tried to contact my relocation advisor, but as yet no info. This could make a huge difference to coming or not!!!
Any advice would be most welcome!!

Since I posted in June, Rakkah does have a family that works in RT. there are 250 families in Rakah now equaling 800 people. 81 kids living in Rakah came out for the Rakah swim team week before last.
RT is considered full, just like DHA. That being said, your housing assignment will be made in the week of your arrival. So no one can probably tell you where that is going to be. Housing assignments are made according to availability when you arrive.
If there is a house available in RT when you arrive, you will be placed there.
Aramco does try to place you in the compound closest to where you work when possible.

I was sort of wondering what the situation was in RT. It appears that we have navigated the murky waters of the screening and hiring process (Insh, Insh) AND our arrival date is on or about March 31st (sooner? nah, why not wait til it's REALLY scorching) and our assigned location is, yes, RT.
SO: Are there any movements or refurbishments or any signs of room opening up?
The new compound does look nice though - just sayin' we can easily visualize that it could be possible and even fun to enjoy free and unfettered use of the RT facilities anyway.
We need some serious recon.

We were also wondering the current situation in RT for housing? We were told at our orientation in London a few weeks ago that new housing is currently being built at RT and we're wondering if anyone can confirm this? And if it is being built, how soon is it going to be ready?
