recently received an offer from Saudi Aramco to be based in Abqaiq. what are the accomadation conditions and facilities available. Is there alternate accomadation available apart from the Aramco facility. Also, what are the rentals like. Is their facilties for families with school going children?

All four Aramco compounds have the same amenities and similar style housing. Families live in townhouses or single dwelling homes, the house assigned depends on GC and number of children. Both types have LR, Kitchen, Dining room or area, BR's, some have a study, some have a breakfast area that can be used however you want, 1 car gae, patio, front yard, fenced/walled back yard (can be small to large depending on style of house).
Yes there are facilities for school age children: pool, sports, etc.
Here is a post written in May, 2012 - move to Abqaiq from DHA: I went on a visit there last month and I have to say that the community is excellent. The facilities are great and there is a big community spirit there. I also visited the school which is amazing. Class sizes are currently around 12-15 so the quality of education is first-class. Also, there were lots of activities for children from what I could see. There is also a womens' group which arranges activities for children - there was a bunny hunt (chocolate egg hunt) being organised while I was there.

You will receive a 3 BR townhouse, with LR, Dining room, breakfast area and 2 1/2 bathrooms, With a 1 car gae. Many people choose to build in their gae or patio or both to have more room. You can go to housing and get approval, you would pay for these additions.

Hi, What is the rental for the 3b/r townhouse after the 3 months free rental. Also what is the distance between the townhouse complex and the Aramco offices. Do they have a high/senior school in Abqaiq. Thanks

There is not 3 months of free rental for the house. There is free rental of the furnishings for about 3 months - which is the time it takes your shipment to arrive.
3 BR is around 500.00 USD/month including all utilities, maintenance and local phone service.

vpainter,
Looks like with living in Abqaiq or Ras tunara, the days would be a little longer due to commute time to the office in Dhahran. Does Aramco compensate monetarily for the extra time?

I heard in a meeting commuters will be compensated somewhat for you having to commute. Another user on the forum stated it was a choice to make. Be compensated monetarily for commuting and take the 4:15pm bus home - work hours are from 7am to 4pm, and bus leaves at 4:15pm. Or do not take monetary compensation and you can leave on the 3:30pm bus.
If you are one who just cannot leave early from work, you may want to choose the monetary compensation.

Thanks for your responses. However just a clarity on the Offer. If my offer states GC13, does it mean my offer is family status?? I would appreciate an urgent response. Many Thanks :?

GC 11+ are eligible for family status. Aramco is requiring some to complete their 90 day probationary period prior to the family coming over. Check with your recruiter for if your family comes with you or after you. Offer should state if you are coming family status.

Wanted to know whether the type of housing depends on nationality? My GC is 13 and am of Indian nationality? I have been assigned Abqaiq.

Assuming you are eligible for family camp housing, nationality has no bearing on which type of house you would get. The main consideration used by housing to decide what type of house to give you, is number of children.

Hi, I will start in Dhahran and reside in Abqaiq. Would you mind sharing some info with me regarding the single male flats/appartments or housing? Any photos would be great. Thanks, agi
