After almost 4months of waiting, finally I got the Saudi work visa stamped on my passport today. I will be with everybody in August! Feel excited just imagine the life in the dessert...
One question: is it wise to bring a mobile phone bought outside of Kingdom into the country? Or, is this ever workable?
Thanks for answering.

Similar question, does the iPhone 4 (not 4S) work okay in KSA?

I also recently bought an IPhone 5. If its unlocked, will I be able to use it in Saudi? Kindly advise. Thanks.

zsb, I am using an iPhone 5, and have no problems. I bought it in KSA.

zsb,
I have an unlocked IPhone 5c and am wondering if I can readily get a SIM card for this in Dhahran. What is the cost for this? Do I need to get a local carrier? Which carriers are available? I understand I should have an iqama already. Is this true? I appreciate your responses.

Yes, get an unlock iPhone. That really help me. You can get an STC temporal prepaid pending your Iqama. Will send you some Private messages.

So I finally arrived at Dhahran. I went to STC and bought a SIM for the iPhone. It works! Any recommendations for a SIM-based router or USB modem? 4G or 3G? Thanks!
