I will be interviewing for an English teaching position in London this coming June.
If I am hired I have a few questions:
1. My wife is Korean (I am American) and we have a two year old son. Will there be any problem having my family come to live with me? This may seem an odd question but I have recently turned down several job offers in other countries who told me it would be impossible for them to arrange Visas for my family.
2. Should I import my car? In South Korea a car is next to useless and more of a bother than it is worth. However, where I live in the states you could not survive without a car. What is the situation like in Saudi Arabia?
3. Does ARAMCO pay for the flight to Saudi Arabia? If not I may wait in London until the job begins in order to save money on airline ticket costs.
4. How soon after the interview do employees generally deploy?
5. Are there any day care facilities for preschoolers?
Thanks in advance.

1. If you are GC 11+ you will be eligible for family status.
2. You will want a car here. You can do a search of the forum and read about people's opinion of buying here versus bringing your car here. If you ship your car here, it must have a clear le and be under 5 years old. It is pretty cheap to ship a car from the U.S. I have a few friends who have shipped their vehicles and they are glad they did. There is also an excellent post on how much cars cost here and posts for car shipping - from the U.S. and Canada.
3. Yes, Aramco pays for your flights to KSA in Business Class.
4. This is the question without an accurate answer. From interview to arrival is different for everyone. That timeline can be quick or very slow. You can read other people's timelines by doing a search on timelines. It can be a month to over a year.
5. There are not daycare facilities. But there are private preschools for 2 and 3 year olds. And depending on which compound you live in there is an official preschool for 3 and 4 year olds in the Aramco schools. Mothers also have play groups.
