Hi everyone!
I have an interview in London in early June for Aramco. I have spoken to an older friend who spent over 20 years working in Saudi. He says that I should ask for Dharhran first and then Jeddah. Does that sound right? I want to get it right as I will probably be bringing my family out at a later date.
Also, I have heard you have to negotiate your salary in the interviews. Coming from London, I am not used to this so much. Is this the case?
Thank you to anyone who has a moment to answer!

I don't know how long ago your friend worked for Aramco. All the Aramco compounds are good compounds. DHA and RT have a tendency to be full, but there are still people moving in as houses become available. ABQ is filling up and UDH is considered full.
All the compounds have good amenities and a good place for families.
Sorry, do not know anything about Jeddah.

I'm not sure that you can ask for a location - it's usually the case that you apply for a specific job and based on a successful interview, Aramco will decide where to locate you and/or your family.
There are no Aramco compounds in Jeddah although there are plenty of nice compounds. Other Aramcons have been located in Arabian Homes in Jeddah (4 compounds)
I'm not sure that you can negotiate your salary at the interview stage - although you take paylips(s) with you, it's not discussed at this stage. Once you receive the offer (which is likely to be based on your current salary), then you can probably do some negotiation. Of course, this may be slightly different if Aramco are desperate for your role and want you there quickly.
Good luck Buster
