Hi everyone,
I finally got the job offer and have been proposed a role at Ras Tanura.
Now it's the difficult moment to make a decision... my wife is worried that she would end up enclosed in a camp all day with no chance to get a job or maybe starting up a small business. I know this might sound peculiar but she's been working all her life and has a good job in banking.
On the other hand, we now have two children of 2yr and 3 months old, and we would also like to know how difficult it is to get help there in terms of daycare/childminders and the like.
Many thanks for any opinion!!

Daily Maids/nannies are usually found by word of mouth and live outside in the local community. People who want live-in maids/nannies sponsor them. This will take 2-3 months (per my neighbor who sponsored one) with all the paperwork. You can choose which country you want a maid from.
Right now is a unique situation with maids/nannies at their consulates waiting on going home, and if you are willing to pay, you can transfer their sponsorship to you. Unfortunately, the current sponsors seem to want a lot of money to do this (according to someone who has looked into it).

Thank you Vpainter.
Regarding opportunities for the spouse to start a business or work remotely, do you know anyone who's done something like this? Browsing the forum, I have found just references to people who've found jobs in teaching or nurses.
Thanks again!

RT is a wonderful place for kids. There are mom and tots groups, playgrounds, pools, swim lessons (even for infants), lots to do.
As for mom... It can be challenging for a woman who's used to being independent and working. There are a lot of women here who find jobs, either as 'casuals' working for Aramco or working from home (some run salons, some run small retail stores, etc depending on their professional background).
Childcare can be hit or miss. There are K3+ preschools on camp. The used to be a lot of Nannies around, but with the current iqama changes I hear they are harder to find (we released ours a few months ago, Im hoping we dont regret it). I believe (depending on your payroll) if both spouses are working full time you may qualify for an Aramco sponsored Nanny. Perhaps one of the HR guys on here could tell you more about it.

Well we have decided to accept the offer today! we're really excited and looking forward to meet you all!
The process is expected to be quite long before we arrive at RT, but in the meantime I'll try to collect as much info as I can from this forum.
Anyone there with a young family who wants to get in touch - please PM me!!

Its an old post but I would like to get latest information on maids. We will soon be moving to RT with my little champ. Are we allowed to hire maid from an Asian countries? specially India/Nepal? (I believe nationality of the maid must be different from ours which is common requirement in ME countries). Or in RT, is it easy to get live out maid from outside since google map shows camp is close to other habitats.
