Can someone who has recently obtained IQAMA help and advice on how long does it take to get your IQAMA after arriving in KSA?
Please help ASAP as I need to get back.

The office that takes care of getting your iqama will need to know your circumstances. Be really nice to them and hopefully they will be able to expedite it.

Re: dealing with the passport office, once you are here, visit the office in the Al-Midra tower and try to talk to Lito, the Filipino guy that works there. He is the only one in my experience that will go out of his way to help you.
Also, be sure to clear the travel back to be with your wife with your boss as soon as possible. Some managers and supervisors will not allow you to take any leave time during your first 90 days. They cite policy against taking leave while in your probationary period. Although it is NOT against policy, the boss still has to approve the leave request.

Like many things around here, it can vary quite a bit. It is true that you SHOULD be able to get your iqama within four weeks (around 2 weeks is not uncommon) but that cannot be guaranteed.
What you need to be particularly wary of, is that most of the month of July coincides with Ramadan, when everything involving government offices slows down. If you arrive mid-June you could well get your iqama before Ramadan starts but if you arrive right at the end of June, it will only be a week or so till Ramadan starts, which could delay things.
