o Everybody,
The last few months been full of events for me and now I am in the last stage of moving to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. First let me start some highlights of my timeline
- Applied for IT Security position on Saudi Aramco web site on June 30, 2012
- Received an email from ASC Houston on Jan. 23 to setup an interview time
- Went for interview in ASC office, Houston on Feb. 15
- Received an email from Aramco recruiter on Mar. 11th saying that Aramco will be presenting an offer and asked to fill some forms
- Received offer package on March 21.
- April 1, Relocation adviser was assigned
- April 18, Medical test completed in Houston office
- April 24, relocation adviser informed me that BI is cleared and asked me to send in passport for - visa stamping
- May 3, received passport with visa to Saudi.
- Departure date set to Saudi onJune 21.
Now that all contingencies are cleared and I received visa, I am preparing for the big move. My current job is a very good government job with great benefits and stability. To be honest, at this stage I am really concerned about the possibility of something still going wrong and loosing on both ends. I have already been talking with a Realtor for selling my home and I decided not to ship any furniture. I am leaving to Saudi as a single status employee. I am very familiar with the culture and work conditions in Saudi Aramco in Dhahran since I worked their previously and I know I will settle down well. The main concern is if I don't make it through the probation period then I would've lost my current job and that of Saudi Aramco. I guess nobody knows for sure but to go through the process to the end.
Anyways, just thought to share this info.
