I do hold a permanent residency in the UK (Indefnite Leave to Remain), but I didnt see at that time to do the british citizenship. I'm north african origin. can I please kindly which payroll do you think they will put me in ? AOA or the UK Payroll ? who will decide what type of contract to give me ? many thanks for your help

You are paid according to the passport you hold. If you have a UK passport, you can get on the UK payroll.

fatma talks about having permanent residency but not citizenship, so as far as I can tell, would not hold a UK passport.
However, payroll is not necessarily decided by passport alone. According to the policy it is normally dependent on citizenship but can be based on residence, depending on certain criteria and at the employee's request.
The full wording is as follows:
So fatma, you could request to be on the UK payroll (if you think that is preferable) and if you have what the company deems to be "substantial work experience" there, it could well be granted.

Thank you GroveWanderer and VPainter for your prompt reply and help. Thank you for your clarification.
I do have settled life here in the UK as I did purchased a property, My son have british citizenship, and have been living in the UK for a while. I even studied here, and graduated from the UK.
Dear Grovewander, can I please kindly when should I request to be moved on the UK payroll ? should I wait for Aramco to come back with an offer ? or tell the recruiter down in London ? thanks a lot in advance for your help regards Fatma

I don't know when you should make the request, but I would certainly discuss it with your recruiter.

Dear All, I have spoken yesterday with my recruiter in London, and she confirmed that I'll be on the UK Payroll, no matter which passport I hold as I have been recruited in the UK, and have enough experience and educational here. However, since I do not have a British passport for the moment, she told me that the only difference will be the point of repatriation, which would be in North Africa until I provide them with a copy of my British passport once i get it. I should be receiving my offer in the coming day hopefully. thanks again for both your input

Ask your recruiter to check that. According to the Pound Sterling IR Manual:
Since you already stated that you have permanent residency in the UK and you are being hired on the UK payroll, your point of origin should be in the UK, regardless of whether you have a UK passport or not.
Of course, if you do get a UK passport that would remove all doubt.

Thanks GroveWanderer for your input. it is really a valid point, and I'll send her another email to double check. I even told her that I don't have any family tie now back home, and that it would not make sense to have back home as point of repatriation. Thanks a lot again for you both. I'm sure this forum will be useless wihout both your input. take care

Sister Fatma Assalamu Alaikum Good luck with your move, one thing I shall advise you on is to be aware that you plan to visit the UK before completing two years working abroad otherwise your residency will be invalid. If this happened then you must apply again for it which is nightmare nowadays.
The other thing you might face difficulty to obtain the KSA working visa since you do not have a British passport. Of course, this is depending on your current nationality. I believe since you have UK residency it might not be too difficult to have the British passport.
I would strongly recommend you to apply to obtain a British passport as soon as you can. You might get it before you come your paperwork with Aramco because you will find out the recruitment process takes few months.
In my case, I received my first offer at 2nd July 2012 and started with Aramco on 5th October 2012. Some others take longer and few shorter period between the offer and the departure.
I wish you the best of luck and let me know if you need more help.

Thanks for all your reply. I'm totally aware of the change in the UK related to the immigration. it is indeed getting harder and harder, but I'm not planning to leave the UK until I do apply for british passport. do you have any particular case when KSA Embassy refused to deliver visa for anyone that doesnt hold british passport ? or do you think its related to the arab spring ? that should be really silly if thats the case !! I'm still waiting for my recruiter to get back from her holiday to send me the offer. she finally agreed to amend the point of repatriation as per as GroveWanderer recommendation. I cannot thank him enough honestly, as it give me more tools in my hand to bargain with the recruiter.
a big thanks for GroveWanderer and Vpainter for their guidance. I really hope to meet them in KSA. Hopefully, I'll receive the offer soon, but as I read in many in the posts, patience is the key in this process.

With the one obvious exception, I have not heard of anyone being refused a visa based on nationality, although I do recall a time after the Gulf War when various nationalities were not allowed in (Yemenis, for instance). I don't know whether those restrictions are still in place.
Saudi Arabia has expatriates from almost every part of the globe, and as far as I know there is no problem with North African countries. I know of people from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt who work here, for instance. Although I don't know of any Libyans, I'm not aware of them not being allowed in.

Dear GroveWanderer, Thanks again for your explanation. I received today my salary sheet, and the job position is for petroleum engineer II - GC13. however, I still didnt receive the full pack from my recruiter or the job offer as she told me she hasnt received feedback from HR Saudi about my point of repatriation. they still want to put me in north africa apparently. (by the way, I'm algerian national)
I did purchase a house here in Aberdeen. does anyone know if Aramco do offer house sale or rent assistance for UK Payroll ? and what is the price Aramco will contribute toward ? Thanks in advance for your replies

Based on the extract from the Pound Sterling IR manual that I quoted earlier, I'm not quite sure why they're still insisting on setting your point of origin as Algeria.
The only thing I can see that might be an impediment, is that any change of PoO from the new hire's country of origin must be approved by the Administrator, Expatriate Employment Division.
If that is what is holding up the change, you might be able to ask the department that is hiring you, to intercede on your behalf to get the approval.
It would be better to get it changed before getting here if at all possible, because if you want to change it after you arrive, it then requires permission from the Director of Personnel.

Sister Fatma I am British from North African origin. I have Libyan friend who has received an offer, the recruiter asked him to send his passport, but they found he does not have a British passport they advised him that it would not be possible to obtain a working visa for him.
Other Arab nationalities seems to be OK as I have few working with. I do not think this has to do with the Arab Spring.
Do not let my message disturb your excitement. I just feel you will be better if you come to KSA holding a British passport.
Best of luck as I mention if you need anything please do not hesitate PM me
