Hi all,
Although we do not have a definite departure date, our tentative packing/move date is June 20. If we were to leave for KSA within a week or two later, we would arrive just before or during Ramadan. During Ramadan, I assume that many Saudi workers and supervisors will be off on holiday or doing partial days. How does Ramadan influence the probationary period given the more limited interaction with supervisors to direct/guide/supervise new employees?

Probation is 90 days. It can go through Ramadan without extending it.

Probation includes Ramadhan. It is business as usual (in theory) during Ramadhan. Muslim employees will be coming to work from 7AM to 1PM while the non-muslim employee will have their lunch break at 12-1PM (instead of the normal 11:30-12:30PM) so there is still 5 hours of interaction for all staff.

Hi all,
If you are Muslim and starting out in your probation period during ramadan will it be looked down upon if you work the reduced hours (because you are fasting)?
Ive always been curious about this?
Regards

ravenmn,
No. You are in a company where the vast majority of the staff is Muslim, including virtually all the management. Most everyone will be working the same reduced hours, so I can't imagine why would it be looked down on.

Idul-Fitr (celebration after Ramadan/5 days), and sickness days are not counted towards the probation.

Thank you, didn't think about the Eid holiday after Ramadan nor about sick time.

o All,
Is there any "marriage leave" that the employee is allowed to get? How soon after joining will it be possible for an employee to leave to get married? Does anyone know when is the long eid holidays? how many days Aramcons get?

I have never heard of any marriage leave.
Eid is a 5 day holiday and Aramco has a rescheduled day off attached at the end of it. so 6 days off this year.

I just got married in April of this year. Aramco credited me 3 "L" days (vacation days) when I returned from my scheduled leave after I produced my marriage license showing I got married while I was on leave.
