My husband had his interview this past Monday in Houston and the gentleman conducting the interview told my husband to ask around about the different housing locations. He did pick up a map of KSA and it did have housing options for families. Here are my questions
1. And anyone shed some light on the different camps (Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Abqaiq, Udhailiyah)? I have heard of the first two listed but not the last two. 2. We are American so are there only certain ones that we would potentially live in?
Also, the gentleman interviewing my husband asked him to find out about the Central Region Distribution department. Where do these engineers usually reside? And is anyone currently in this department?
Thanks in advance!

Americans live on all four compounds.
Dhahran is the largest and is near Al Khobar.
Ras Tanura is located about an hour north of DHA on the coast. It is the only compound with their beach inside the compound.
Abqaiq is located about an hour south and west of DHA.
Udhailiyah is located about 2 hours south and west of DHA.
All the compounds have the same type housing and amenities.
We have friends in all four compounds and they like their compound.
Please read the discussion groups under Living in Aramco communities to learn more about each compound.
You cannot choose which compound you live in. You are assigned to the compound you will live in and your actual house assignment is made usually during the week of your arrival.

I think Central Region means Riyadh. I think expats working in Riyadh usually get housing in a compound in Riyadh. I don't know which one, but it's not owned by Aramco. There are a lot of Americans living in Riyadh.

Thanks vpainter, I did find and read up on some of the other housing communities.
UmmRiyam- I not sure I am following you. My husband was interviewed by a manager within Aramco. So I'm a little confused if this area is not owned by Aramco why would they be interviewing for this area? Also, I'm pretty sure that this is the name of the department that this particular manager oversees within Aramco. If you could explain further I would greatly appreciate it.
If anyone else has further comments please share.

Aramco has offices in Riyadh, but they do not have a compound there. Expats working in Riyadh are assigned housing in a western compound that is similar to the Aramco compounds.
