Need some opinion from the group please.
I had my phone interview with a department manager, it went well, but he offered me a position in the West cost some desert town, 4 hours south of Jeddah. He said family will be in Dhahran and I will be going there for 5 days a week??? was trying to politely advise him that it is not what I am looking for, but I did not want to loose the lead or the interest for possible being considered for my choice in Dhahran.
SO what is the advise continue with discussions or tell them now not interested in that location?
WHat do you season veteran advise

There are quite a few employees in that situation where the husband has to work in a location far away from the compound where his family lives. The housing at the plants are not set up for families, and some of the places are really isolated. Aramco has airplanes that would take you to that work location on Saay and return you back on Wednesday. I know it's far from ideal for most families though.

I was been told the same location, which is 4-5 hrs travel (air+car) to reach the work location and stay away from family for 5 days and return on the weekend in Dhahran compound. I am not sure if the travel will be part of the 5 days or it will be taken away from 2 day weekend. Is there any incentive for going to the western corner of the country from eastern side where compound is located? Any inputs to this will be greatly appreciated.

I asked my husband about this, and he said that usually you would fly Sat morning and Wed afternoon. For Haradh gas plant, the schedule is 12p-6p on Sat and 6a-12p on Wed, and the other days are 6a to 6p. Those workers get extra pay and overtime.

I assume you're talking about Jizan. It's a big new refinery project down there. As others have said, you'll usually start a bit later on a Saay and finish early on a Wednesday to catch your flights.
If Dhahran is too far away, maybe you could ask for a Jeddah compound? There's not an Aramco one there but plenty of other ones to choose from
