Hi
Housing location for Berri GP employee
I'm getting serious about applying to a job for Berri GP. Can someone please let me know the location for housing (RTA vs ABQ) expected to work in Berri GP?
The position is for Engineer II. I only consider moving with my family. Can you please let me know the expected Grade Code for my case?
I'm from West Europe and have around 12 yrs experience. According to the job description (on ARAMCO web site) I believe my experience and CV fits in a very good way to what is being required.
Thanks for all your help.

I am sorry I cannot assist the two of you. I have never heard of the Berri GP. If it is not near Dhahran you will probably not be assigned to live there. You may to choose where to live.

Housing for Berri Gas Plant would most likely be Ras Tanura; it is the closest community and I think they have a work haul bus from RT to BGP. There may also be housing options in Jubail, which is the closest major center to BGP, but you would likely be on your own with that choice unless the company has a compound near there. The offices for most operating facilities are at the physical facility, with Dhahran only hosting functions either at a corporate level or common to multiple facilities. Your first step would be to see what is offered, discuss it with your hiring agent or relocation representative - and ask questions here when you have specifics of what is offered.
As for the grade code, that is an issue that should be discussed with your relocation adviser; however, if you are an Engineer I/II/III/IV you should be eligible for family housing, but policies are often changing - particularly related to when family members would join you; this is information that only your relocation adviser can provide facts about. If you are on family status, the community does not matter as much as ensuring you have the shortest possible commute - this is what provides a quality of life that is often missing in the western world. You will find that all communities have a very strong family focus and integration to the community is easy provided you are willing to adapt and just accept what cannot be changed and embrace what makes you happy.
All of the Saudi Aramco communities have different strengths and are fairly equal for families. The only significant difference is that Dhahran is much larger, which has both benefits and drawbacks.
