I flew in to DMM a few nights ago. I kept asking the taxi driver, how many riyals to Aramco and he just kept asking me where in Aramco I want to go and and started loading my luggage. Even after I told him exactly where I want to go he wouldn't give me a price. As we drove off he said 400 riyals. I was very tired and angry so ended up paying (although I did video tape him with my cell phone as he was unloading my luggage, which scared him enough to offer me a refund). Long story short, don't enter a taxi without negotiating the final price first. A trip to/from the airport shouldn't cost more than 200 riyals.

To Dhahran? I would consider a 200SR charge a taxi scam!

Wow!! Too much riyals. From DHA to RT I've paid 130SR. So from the airport to DHA should be MUCH less.

Ive heard of several such incidents. I know others who simply ignored the taxi driver and paid him/her fair market value at the end of the trip. (The destination each time was an Aramco camp). The taxi driver each time just took the money. They may not be happy, but in the end if security arrives its obvious the taxi was trying to rip you off so its not a situation they want.

Majestic or Samarra has a contract with Aramco and they cahrge SAR95 one way either from Dhahran to DMM or DMM to Dhahran

I got scammed like that on one of my trips to DHA. Took a picture of the cab number, reported it, and expensed the fare.

All guys call yourself lucky, I have heard several scams where one of the co passengers pretends to have lost something and at the end all of them collectively rob you, this, by the way is for non-registered taxis, I mean private cars doing the service with out any limousine company being attached to them, what I prefer is I know private limousine companies in khobar, just call them where ever you want and they will drop you where ever you want, fare is reasonable,...but with current saudiazation program enforced I donno how many have closed down.... I have moved to UDH last year, not in touch with limo companies anymore
