o All,
Got the offer and so excited but I guess patience is critical now.
I am on the Pounds sterling payroll.
My offer does not make reference to Deferred Benefits Supplement and Severance Award is this covered as a general company policy? Only the annual benefits supplement is mentioned.
I will be based in Abqaiq is it possible to have this changed? Is there housing available in Dharan?
How does the rental allowance work and is it paid up front or on a monthly basis to you?
Is it normal for your monthly base to be lower than your current overall salary package?
What is the best way to settle into the new environment?

Congratulations!!! on your offer.
UK employees I'm sure will answer your first question.
You can always try to negotiate being in DHA, but no guarantee you would receive that request.
If your offer is lower than your salary at present, you can re-submit your pay stubs requesting they match your current salary.
Be flexible, be patient, get involved. You will have a list of self-directed groups in your home when you arrive, if its not there, go to the Community Services office and ask for one. Hopefully you will find some groups/clubs that you'd like to participate in.

Congrats!
I am currently in UK and the offer I received is on UK payroll. The offer letter does not have any reference to Deferred Benefits Supplement and Severance Award, though the email did. This was sent as a separate calculation as an estimate based on various assumptions including date of joining, annual merit increase, benefits supplement (as a percent of base salary), etc.
you could get a separate working of this, if you request.
regards

It used to be that you received a sheet with some examples of severance award but these were only guidelines - factors like your salary, length of service, rental allowance, yearly rise etc all come in to the equation. When you arrive there is an online calculator where you can experiment with figures
How does the rental allowance work and is it paid up front or on a monthly basis to you?
Rental allowance is based on you taking a place outside an Aramco compound. It will be paid one time a year and will only be up to a certain amount (this may or may not cover the annual rent in another compound - if you choose to live in the community, I'm sure it will cover the yearly rent but you will not have access to certain facilities). Families may prefer to live the compound life.
Is it normal for your monthly base to be lower than your current overall salary package? Please take the full package in to account - base, overbase, annual benefits, tax free, travel allowance etc.
What is the best way to settle into the new environment? Get out and about and meet people - most expats have experienced similar scenarios and are only to willing to help
