Thanks to the moderators for running this forum - most useful.
I am from UK - was interviewed by telephone on 1oth March, got contacted by AOC for paystubs on 11th March and got my offer today (4th April) for Engineering Specialist in CSD (DH). This forum has been most useful in terms of so many questions rushing through my head and I am sure that the assigned relocation assistant will be able to clarify others!
I have been offered family status and intend relocating with wife and 8yr old son.
For those from the UK in this forum (or others that can help) :
1) In the offer, there is a monthly base salary and overbase, which is straightforward. In addition, there is an annual benefits supplement, which I presume is paid on an annual basis or prorated - please confirm. This I believe is for investment in investment funds - is this paid directly into an investment fund or paid to employee for them to invest? if directly by Aramco, are there any options of funds that I should ask for in preference?
2) Deferred Benefits Supplement - this is stated as 100% of Final Annual Base Salary after 12 years, ie one years salary? I believe that this is different from Annual Benefits Supplement(Hope so) - please confirm!
3) What is Severance Award - is this different from deferred benefits supplement? there is no mention of this in the offer, it only states that this will be 'generous' - can I ask for clarification on what level this is likely to be, or should this be included in offer pack?
3) GC15, what sort of housing to expect for family of three? The housing rent states £260 - does this give an idea of the type of housing considered?
4) I have read in another post earlier about British School (please can someone guide to the discussion thread or repost about how far from DH compound, admissions, quality etc)?
5) I read in other posts that all electrical sockets in DH are 110V, but also that all 110V equipment are being confisticated. Please can someone from UK clarify if the 220-240V appliances from UK work or should I be considering sping all and buying new stuff in-country?
6) Is there any precedence of 'golden handshakes' over and above the cash in lieu for almost starting with buying all basic stuff in Saudi and setting up stuff from scracth - guess everything in UK not transferable to Saudi will have to go in car boot/garden sales, unless Aramco can pay for cold stoe - any idea of cold stoe costs?
