I have an interview for a job in the next couple of weeks, and was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some information on what life might be like on the compound, in particular with regard to sports.
I am male, single and 32 years old, living in Australia, what sports teams are there to join, in particular are there rugby, waterpolo, swimming, triathlon or crossfit (is the swimming pool 25m of 50m?). I noticed that some of these exist in Bahrain, according to google maps bharain is about an hour away, how practical would it be to drive over there to training (is the traffic/border control prohibitive to make this impractical).
Cheers

There is a Touch Rugby league. Aramco feels American football and Rugby have too many accidents.
There is a waterpolo group.
There is an olympic size lap pool.
There have been quite a few people asking about crossfit. If someone else has not started a group, you could do so once you are here.
There is a running group and a bicycling group and the lap pool. I do not know if there are those training for Triathlon here.
From DHA, getting into Bahrain is 45 mins with the causeway moving well. If you get a night the causeway is backed up, crossing can take 1 to 4 hours.

Thanks for the information, sounds like there is plenty on offer, really pleased to hear there is a 50m pool.
