We'll be moving to Saudi by the end of the year. We'll most likely settle in Ras Tanura, but may be in Khobar/Dharan for a few months first, most likely at Las Dunas. We're from Texas and we've always homeschooled and were looking for other homeschoolers to hook up with. My 3 boys will be 11yo, 16yo and 22yo (he's high-functioning autistic, but needs to stay with his family so he's coming, too).
Thanks! Leslie

Are there still homeschoolers meeting in the Khobar, Dammam, Dharhan area?

o:
This is a huge concern and its a breath of fresh air to know that there are home schoolers in the compounds as my wife and I are concerned about schools accepting my daughter who is a very high functioning autistic child (Aspergers). Honestly she has some impulsive outbursts but otherwise you can't tell she is autistic. She maintains a very good GPA. She is such an inspiration to me.
We are projected to be there in March. I have no issues with sending her to school. I would much rather have her homeschooled for a while. Any information is super appreciated and will really calm some of my wife's anxieties about going to KSA.
how does this whole home school group work?
Any information about schools or homeschooling is super appreciated. The Aramco Schools tell me they don't have resources for autistic kids. So I don't know which way to go with it.

I am considering a position at Aramco and if it all goes well. I will be moving there with my family in March. I am very interested in having my daughter homeschooled. She is a very high functioning autistic child. I was told that the Aramco Schools may not accept her so we are considering this option. Ideally we would like to put her in a school eventually as she has outgrown many of her disruptive behaviors. Does anyone have any information on either a school or a good homeschooling group.

Aramco allows homeschooling. Definitely try to get her approved to attend Aramco schools. There is a small group of parents who take their children to a special needs school in Bahrain.

Thanks Vpainter and sorry for the double entry... Could you provide any contact information for the homeschooling group?

You can use the K12.com system for online very structured home school. my wife uses that for homeschooling our daughter here in Texas. this stuff is working VERY well for us.
