Does anyone have a school supply list for kindergarten? We will be arriving in May insh. Our son turns 5 in April. I'd like to go ahead and bring over his school supplies. And are there any restrictions on backpack style/size? Thanks

Any style of back pack is fine at least here at RT. Just make sure it can hold a few library books and a folder or two. Let me check with a kindergarten teacher at RT & see what might be on the list for next school year.

Yes, good point about the backpack size. I've heard kindergarten teachers comment to their students about their parents needing to send them with a bigger backpack. I've noticed that the kindergarteners who have the backpacks with wheels have a struggle lifting them up the bus steps, FYI. They can be heavy. Style choice is yours, and the school doesn't care.
Also, an insulated lunch bag is useful for daily snacks. I get my kids two backpacks and extra snack boxes each year, since items get lost or broken, and it's not always easy to run to the store and get a new one at a moment's notice. At back to school time, the commissary (in DH anyway) carries pre-fab school supply bags by grade for the elementary school kids. They're fussy about brands here, and we found that some of them weren't readily found in the States (some I'd never even heard of). The school supply lists are posted on the Aramco Schools web site. Here's the list from the Dhahran Hills Elementary for kindergarten:
KINDERGARTEN 2 boxes Faber-Castell brand colored pencils (12 count) 5 large UHU glue sticks – 40 g 1 box Fiddle Stick or Bipunta brand thin markers 1 box gallon size Ziploc brand bags 1 box quart size Ziploc brand bags 1 box Mr. Sketch washable markers (12 count) 1 box Prang brand Watercolors (8 colors) 1 Crayola School Glue 4 oz. (no clog tip) 1 pkg. Boardmark #J04 dry erase markers (4 count) Expo brand only 1 Fiskar brand children’s scissors-round tips I 4 oz. bottle Elmer’s Glue 1 Clorox Wipes (35 ct. or more)
If your child is joining the K4 classroom for the remainder of this year, here's their supply list:
K4 1 box Wet Wipes 1 box Ziploc bags (1 gallon size) 1 box Ziploc bags (1 quart size) 1 box Mr. Sketch WASHABLE markers, 12 count Hand Sanitizer (girls) 1 package small paper plates (boys) 1 roll Bounty paper towels

Thanks hadia and bolishfamily!! I tried to go to te school's website but it kept taking me somewhere different. Maybe because I'm on my phone. Seems like it's just better to buy the supplies from there.

If your son is turning 5 in April, then he will be in K4. My advice is to send him to school without any school supplies, and then talk to the teacher about the school supplies. I sent my daughter late for K3 since we were out of Saudi, and she said they had too many school supplies, and asked me to just bring 4 boxes of quart size ziploc bags instead of everything on the list.
Also, I'm wondering if each school has different supply lists or if they're all the same.
If I were you, I would go ahead and buy what you can in the US because some of the prices are crazy here, and if you don't send it to school then your kids can use it at home. Washable Crayola markers in the commissary in UDH are like 67 riyals! I can't remember how much the crayola crayons are, but they were crazy expensive when you can get them for less than $1 per box in the US (I've seen them on sale for 4 for $1 during the Back to School sales!). and regular Elmer's glue is 15 riyals per bottle, and the K3 list wanted like 4 bottles per student. Glue is surely a lot less than $4 per bottle in the US!!!
