o, I have received an offer and we are reviewing it. I have a son who is highly peanut allergic and was told there are quite a few kids there that are peanut allergic as well. My question is , how do they handle it there? IN the USA, everything is labeled, where ever you eat in the USA, they know how to handle allergies, etc... But what about in the Dharan area? Do people just bring their own food when going out of the compound? How is the food court in the compound?
Thanks

Hi, Recently I was approached by a recruiter for a position with Aramco and I am seriously considering pursuing the opportunity. One of our big concerns is my kid's nut allergies. I will real appreciate if someone can guide us on this issue. Is there a general awareness of nut allergies in schools? my kid is starting 3rd grade this fall. Are the food items labeled as hey are in US? Thanks any guidance you can provide will be highly appreciated.

The Aramco schools are very aware of peanut allergy kids now. Most food treats from home are no longer permitted. Some labeling here since many products are imported, but not all.

Thank you, this is a big relief. This forum is fantastic in alleviating some of our initial concerns. Still too early in the process, but keeping my fingers crossed.
Where can I find more details about the Medical facilities? I read that in the forum that its hard to get appointments with doctors on the compound. Do many people go off compound for medical treatments? If they do is that covered by Aramco insurance plan?

I wouldn't say it is hard to get a medical appointment but you do sometimes have to wait longer than you might like, especially if seeing a specialist. You do have the option of choosing a Medical Designated Facility (MDF) off camp but if you do, then as far as I know, you are no longer eligible to use the JHAH clinics (except for emergencies).
