My BI started on Feb 13th, as told by my relocation advisor, but none of my references have been contacted yet. Is this normal or at what point will the references be contacted.

I am in the same boat. I sent my BI/Medical on Jan 30th and none of my references have been contacted yet. It could be that they by passed the references and went to HR. I live in Dubai and the BI will take a bit longer.
But the concern for me is that they have not contacted me about my medical clearance. This seems to be taking a bit longer as well.
Any thoughts from anybody on both issues.

I sent in my BI forms late December and the report was issued by the investigator on Feb 5th so it does take time. Remember that they are verifying all your degrees, marriage certificate, credit history, as well as your work history. This can take some time, especially if multiple countries are involved. I did receive a question requesting additional information from the investigator on one item (a company I worked for no longer is in business so they wanted to know if I had a contact that could verify my employment). In some respects, no news is good news . Once the report is written by the investigator, I understand the results are sent to Aramco in Saudi Arabia before clearance is given so again there is a time lag. Re the medical, it may not hurt to contact your Relocation advisor and ask if there are any issues that have been flagged for review by SAMSO.
