This morning, I received an email stating the sweet water will be turned on next week after the maintenance crew do some work to the pipeline outside the house. All my neighbors received the same email. The work will start next week on March 4th - 9th. All water inside the house will be sweet including bathtub, toilets, sinks, etc.

That's great news. I hope the program will be widespread to all of the residents soon.
What about the hose water outside? Did they say if that will that be sweet water, too, or is it just the inside of the house?

So is this project now complete? Do all houses in DHA now have sweet water all inside?
I wonder if we should still bring reverse osmosis system, brita filters, culligan filters, from the U.S. Would appreaciate your inputs. Thanks.

No sweet water in our neighborhood. Still washing our hair in the kitchen sink. I'm not holding my breath about installation getting to our area anytime soon. :?

We don't have it either. We live in the Hills. Is there someone I should call and ask about it? I have a 5 month old that I'm scared to bathe! I gave her a bath upstairs but I think I'm going to start bathing her in the kitchen sink. The sweet water is usually warm anyways, I can just add some hot raw water.

I wouldn't use raw water on a little baby. I'd heat some sweet water gently in a pot and cool it to the right temp, and bathe baby in the sink.

Revive, The project is not complete. The original completion date was supposed to be around the end of 2014 but I seem to recall someone saying that due to the construction of the new housing units that is underway, the completion date is now unsure.
I am not aware that anywhere in Main Camp has sweet water throughout the house yet, I've only heard of it being available in some areas of the Hills.
If anyone has any different info, please chime in.

Thanks everyone for the confirmation.
We bought a bunch of Brita filters from costco on Saay. We'll also buy an undersink reverse osmosis system and also Culligan filters for the showers.

The sweet water has been implemented in one section of the hills (Nasariya, Salamiya etc zones). They have temporarily stopped the roll-out due to an oversight. Apparently they do meter the usage and they found that the usage was extremely high. They pinpoint the problem to the sprinklers in the garden. Apparently the sprinkler system is using the same lines and now they are scratching their heads on how to separate the lines.

Just an update. They have restarted the sweet water convesrion projects and I received and email yesterday informing me that my house is next in line. You need to sign a new housing agreement as they have ammended the one you signed with information about sweet water (each person living in the house will be enled for 0.915 m3 of sweet water per day ... or 200 gallons per person per day). The meter the water and will be able to check every 2 months on your usage. Any usage above an beyond the allocated amount will trigger a warning email. Another violation and the warning will go straight to your manager ... yada yada yada ....

Anyone here who has had sweet water installed? How's it going with the meter? Is the allotted amount of water sufficient for typical day to day living?

I would say it is more than sufficient. It's 200 gallons per person per day. So in a family of 5, you get 1,000 gallons of sweet water per day. The meter is not installed in the house I don't think, it's just an indication that they will monitor it every 2 months and if your usage exceeds the 2 months avee (for a family of 5 would be 60,000 gallons), then a notice will be sent to you. Unless you have a pool that you'd like to be in a sweet water system then maybe that could be a problem. Here's a good link for a typical water usage ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/qa-home-percapita.html
