Hi guys,
I had a video conference interview with the medical department on 6th Feb. The job was for a Consultant Child + Adolescent Psychiatrist.
I got an email yesterday from the Aramco UK agent to say that the department had ecided to "put my application on hold for now"! She continues to say "However this may change in the next few weeks". This may actually work out well for me because I still have one year left to finish my training. I would have asked to defer my start date till next year if I had been offered the job. This issue was discussed in the interview so maybe they want me to finish my training! I don't know.
Can someone tell me what that means? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks
Omar

On hold, means just that. It will be on hold until they are ready to hire. The ones I've known been on hold, they eventually did receive an offer. No guarantees of that from me, though, it is what has happened before.

VPAINTER - thanks for your reply.
I guess patience is the key! If they had offered me the job I would have requested my start date be deferred till next year so it works out nicely for me....provivded they do offer me the job!!

I am in a similar situation that I have been put on hold after my video interview for a Finance position. I asked what this means and the recruiter replied back saying 'It means that there are other candidates that they judge have more the relevant experience for the role but they haven’t decided yet'

I phoned up London HR a week ago and HR London said that she does not have any update neither negative nor positive. She said she would follow up with HR KSA and asked me to give her a call in a weeks time. having done that also, too, she still didn't have any updates and said that she will try to contact KSA HR again and drop me an email. Patience but patience.

I decided to call the UK office again today out of a sudden to ask if should hold onto my hopes. The recruiter checked my details on screen, first said that they have not decided what to do with the role as my situation was on hold and then realised that my status has changed on screen without her noticing it. Apparently there was a request for a phone call. But she was not sure what it was for and she said that she needed to contact KSA recruitment to find out more.

No outcome and communication to me on my interviews since I last wrote to this forum back in Dec 2016. I applied through the ARAMCO website back in August 2017, had an interview again, but not had feedback as a result. Then in Dec17, I got approached by the London AOC via linkedin, applied, got interviewed twice and this time have been told is positive and now waiting for the offer. eventually done it!
