Hi everyone
I applied through a recruting company and I was advised that Aramco manager wants to see me for an interview. Is this a good sign?
The recruiter indicated that some one from Houston office will contact me to schedule the interview between Feb 09 2013 and feb 16 2013.
Its over a week and no one from Houston office has contacted me to schedule the interview. I live in Canada and not sure if this is something normal.
Will appreciate if someone can advise or comment. Thanks

This is quite normal. I would follow up with the recruiter just to make sure they haven't forgotten though. There are lots of moving parts at Aramco and with the time difference / different weekends, things may not moves fast as one would expect in Canada. As an FYI,I started process last August and am only now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as far as physically making the move. Patience really is a virtue in this case

Thanks gbhatia. Appreciate you taking time and writting the response.
I guess my concern is that the interviews start tomorrow Feb 09 and will continue untill Feb 16. I am in Canada so someone from Aramco Houston office need to book flights or may be me who need to book the flights but I am not sure if there is enough time left.
I have advised the recruiter and will follow up again on Monday. Thanks.

If time gets short, they may schedule a phone interview or video conference. That's what happened to me. Phone interview first followed by video conference a number of weeks later. Another person I know (personally) went through a similar situation as you and ended up having a phone interview after being told he may have to fly down to Houston. He ended up getting an offer within a week of the interview so I don't think it really is a reflection on their interest in you (phone interview vs flying down).

I was at an interview yesterday in Houston and found out Aramco will be recruiting in Calgary in the May 2013 timeframe. Is it possible they might want to interview you in Calgary. Best to contact your recruiter to clarify.

I was informed that Aramco would like to interview me end of the month, but still pending their confirmation email after I have sent my preferred date and time. It's been a week now, hopefully can get their response as by this week.

Thanks LWH. It is very well possible. I did call Houton office this morning for a courtesy follow up. I was advised that there is a dedicated recruiter looking after my file. I left a message and lets hope the recruiter gets back to me. All I am interested at the moment is to know whats happening with my file so the uncertainity is cleared up.
Thanks and good luck to all.

To put this in some perspective: I submitted a resume in May 2012 I was told by the department head in August that they were arranging for an interview. ASC contacted me in November for the interview, which took place in December. The offer came in January.
And, if you read the timelines out there, my path to Saudi is just beginning...
When people on this forum say that patience is the key, they mean it.
