When relocating to Dhahran, I need to find a private figure skating coach for my 10 year old daughter. My daughter has had a private coach for many years in the states, competes in compeions on a regualar basis and obviously does not want to have to quite figure skating as a sport because of a move to Dhahran.
Does anyone know about any local figure skating coaches in Dhahran? I have done some research and know there is a men's hockey league (Saad Falcons) that practices out of a local rink at Oasis Resorts. Does anyone know if there are figure skating coaches that train/coach out of that rink? Does anyone have any contact information to check out the possibility of this? Does anyone know if that rink has a harness for figures skaters to use while learning more advances jumps.

You may want to google Oasis compound in AlKhobar, KSA. They have a large ice skating rink. They will have a contact us link. The men's ice hockey teams play there.

A few weeks ago I tried contacting the Oasis rink you mentioned where the Saad Hockey Team trains out of. I also found some links saying that they offered figure skating lessons to children so I thought they may have a skating coach there for my daughter. When I e-mailed them...they wrote back and said they did not offer any figure skating programs contrary to what I read on-line from Oasis Resorts. This totally confused me...
I also discovered there was a ice skating rink at Funland in Bahrain and am trying to contact the ice skating pro they have on there ice rink website. I am not sure if that ice skating pro is still working there or not. When I e-mailed them about getting e-mail contact info for their skating pro they did not e-mail me back.
It is so hard because I can't just pick up the phone and call here from the states without it costing me a fortune. I would love to know the skating schedules for both of those rinks to find out when public skating sessions and/or freestyle skating sessions (for figure skaters only) may be available. I have got to find a way to allow my daughter to continue figure skating.....she has advanced so much in this sport and she "lives and breaths" figure skating. Thanks so much for your reply....

Since Saudis do not figure skate, there probably is not a figure skating only time.
But that is my guess, not a known fact. It is also not surprising that the Oasis website says one thing and you were told something different. The websites are not updated very often.
You could possibly rent the ice at Oasis, but you could only work on that once you are here.

We just recently landed and were interested if you happened to ever find a solution to the ice skating at the Oasis Compound. My wife has been a professional figure skater for her entire career and we are highly interested in finding a place for her to skate.
