o all,
I'm interested in applying for an advertised Loss Prevention Engineer role at Aramco. If successful I would be travelling out on my own. Wife and kids staying at home. Does anyone know is it possible to work for a block of weeks and return home for a block? Repeat this through the year? For example out for 6/7/8 weeks home for a week or 2 weeks? As a single person, is it possible to work weekends in order to build up additional time to travel home? Would love to hear from a current Loss Prevention Engineer to get some info.

Married on Bachelor status does get more trips home. Hopefully someone can give you more factual information.

The number of paid trips and number of vacation days you get per year depends on various factors (grade code, nationality, family status).
Once you know that, how you schedule your trips home is between you and your department. You could do something like what you propose, if your dept is in agreement and you have enough vacation days to do it (you'd have to work that out for yourself).
No, you do not get extra vacation days ('L' time) by working on weekends.
I would have to say that most depts I have heard of and worked for, do not particularly like employees to take lots of very short vacations.

I think married (batchelor status) do something like 10 wks on then 3 wks off and get 3 return trips home plus a repat per year. These 3 wks are made up of leave days and vacation enlement and how it is all worked out is quite complex. Hopefully someone more knowledgable than me can clarify all this.
I think if you work weekends / overtime / shifts / the field / you get enhanced pay / hardship allowance rather than accrue the time to take off.

Bachelors get around 50 days vacation a year with they have to split up into 3 trips. 1 is a full repat and the other 2 are classed as interim. In loss prevention you would not b able to arrange set timescales of leave such as 10 on 3 off etc. You would have to put in vacation requests for each trip thst would be approved or rejected depending on operating requirements. You may also have problems getting your leave during popular times of the year
