Hi. we will hopefully be moving in March. Just wondering if anyone could send me a list of school supplies needed for grades 3 and 4, as well as info on any school dress codes or special clothing required for sports etc. in school. Thanks.

There is no dress code. You are better off waiting and getting the school supplies here brands are not the same as the States. Actually coming in March they won't make you for this year. They will just supply your child with them.

Bring in your basics: I do appreciate the list supplied in the next post and have edited my original post to say keep reading the next post. Thank you, Hadia.

I agree that buying the supplies in the US is challenging, since they are fussy about brands, and they aren't all available there. However, since you're coming at the end of the year, the teachers will understand that you brought the closest thing available. If it were me, I'd want my child to arrive with some basics in his or her backpack.
My daughter is in 3rd grade. The kids are given plastic folders to bring papers and books back and forth to school. They don't use binders or three-ring paper. Your child will need a decent backpack, lunch pack (for snacks and also lunch club days -- all the kids use them), lots of quality pencils and erasers, scissors, glue sticks, dry erase markers, art markers and colored pencils. Go with what you can find, and next year, you can shop from the school supply list that is circulated to parents. You can buy a bag kit by each elementary grade at the commissary when school begins for next year. It's overpriced, but saves you from running around to try to put the kit together yourself.
While there is not a uniform, there is a dress code in keeping with the norms of the camp, but nothing out of the ordinary. Your children will need sneakers for PE day, and I always recommend that parents bring extra pairs, including some in the next size up. There are also special times of the year when the kids have bike safety training and swimming in PE class, and you'll need to make sure they have swimwear and helmets for those occasions. I was pleasantly surprised to learn when my kids started school here that they can wear sandals and no socks. In their previous school in the States, this was a no-no. My son is usually in shorts, t-shirts and hoodies for school, and he loves it. The kids often change clothes when they come home for lunch, depending on the morning and afternoon activities, or changes in the temperature later in the day. The laundry is unreal.
