I'm looking to work for Saudi Aramco as an operator on one of their plants. When I posted on this forum about shift patterns, one of the replies was:
"Not sure if its the same all over Aramco and if your looking for operators jobs, to be honest Im pretty sure there are no expat operators."
Can anyone tell me whether this is the case or not? Are expat operators only used at plant start ups? Any help or comments would be much appreciated as I wouldn't want to waste my time looking for an opportunity that doesn't exist. I really hope this isn't the case as I'd love to work for Saudi Aramco which would in turn open up great opportunities for my family.
Thanks
James

You should check the Aramco jobs website: www.jobsataramco.com. If there are any openings for expat operators, they would be advertised there. I haven't checked through every section but a quick search on the keyword "operator" returns no results.

Thanks for the reply GroveWanderer. I keep checking this website and have my CV in with a recruiter. I'm just trying to find out if they hire expat operators or not so as I don't waste my time hoping for an opportunity that doesn't exist.

I'm not aware of any expat operators (doesn't mean to say that there isn't though). From operations side, the only expats I see are those in Ops Engineering. Certainly years ago there were operators and operating supervisors. If you have the skills required though, there is nothing to stop you applying for related roles. Good luck
