Finally, I am back and trying to find shelter and job but all in vain. Minus 30 calsius in Calgary is welcoming us and we are all ill due to fever and flu and stressed obviously. Here is more to my story:
I promised myself not to mention any detail on this issue but I got so many PM’s and I decided to provide bit information (carefully) which may help others not to be victimizing like me. Last week before i returned to Calgary,I asked my department to accept my resignation rather than termination but to no avail. Also, two other departments interviewed me and offered me job but my departments (ex) refused to release me and suggested HR to send me back ASAP. I am sure they knew that If i become successful in other departments (which I will if gets chance) then their false claim about my competency will be highlighted. This is perfect example of once S. become personal to someone then they can go to any extent. If I was technically incompetent then why two other departments offered me job?
I wish I could tell about the dark faces of my department on this forum but I'm not S.who can disrespect to anyone and snatching someone's bread and er.I'm proud to be a Canadian and can't portrait their faces which will do one day (Amen).
Here is what I suggest for new hires:
- Meet your supervisor often even though your team lead is everything. My supervisor was non-technical and was believing in team lead because of his limited knowledge.
- Always cc emails to your supervisor on any tasks you do, no matter how big or small and never answer verbally to your team lead. In my case, I was talking verbally to my team lead as a respect but he was bccing emails to my supervisor on simple things we mutually discussed.
- If you feel that your team lead is not giving you respect or cooperating with you then speaks up. When I spoke up it was too late as team lead had spoiled my image by that time.
- Do not be so gentle or harsh as Saudi can ruin your personality and image if you are gentle or harsh. I was too gentle and thought patience will bring results but that patience worked against me.
