Hi all, firstly thank you to previous and current contributors! This forum has been a great resource as I navigated the Aramco hiring process.
I will be relocating to Dhahran from Australia, with my family in the second half of this year, pending visa approvals. Currently we have accepted offer, completed BI, now visa submissions pending approval.
I will be in the region soon on another matter and have some free weekend time where I was thinking of hopping over to Dhahran as a tourist, to get a little more insight as to what life is like and meet some new people.
Would any current expats in Dhahran be willing to meet for a casual tea/coffee on any of these days: 17th, 18th, 24th or 25th of May?

HI, If you wait for the work visa and during that time plan to visit KSA (under tourist visa - that's what I understood) I would recommend to check with your RA - I read somewhere that going with tourist visa while in the work visa process may create some challenges.

Thanks for the heads-up, definitely a valid point to consider. I mentioned it to my RA as I wanted to setup a tour of the community or levee someone to show me around (which was denied). RA out of Singapore did not mention any visa challenges but I will confirm this.

You may want to run this by your recruiter as it might lead to delays because technically this would not be your initial entry to Saudi.

Recruiter did not have any concerns but based in Singapore and potentially a newly hired RA. On the advice of others (and yourself here) I opted not to visit as our visas have been submitted so I don’t want to cause any hold-ups by having an exisiting tourist e-visa. Thanks for your input StarboyX, appreciated.
