Can you please let me know what kind of electrical outlets are utilized in the compound? Type G (UK) with three straight prongs, Type C Euro plug, an ungrounded two-prong rounded plug or A type (American) ungrounded outlet with two prongs? Please take a look at the link below if you have doubts. Also what is the electrical feed voltage for washer and dryer in the compound? www.ehow.com/about_5439743_types ... z290qdesI7

There is SO much written in this forum about the electrical issues. I strongly recommend that you do a search and you'll likely find all your questions answered previously. For the most part you'll need 110v US style electrical plugs on your household items, however, there is slow movement in some camps and some houses toward installing 220v outlets, since the rules about sale of 110v appliances in the Kingdom are changing. If you search this forum for issues about electricity and appliances, you will likely find the info you need.

Homes in Aramco compound have following type of electrical outlets: (1) 110V American style with two flat prongs and an additional one for the ground. These outlets are provided typically in bedrooms, living area, kitchen, etc. (2) Similar to item #1 above, but with GFCI in bathrooms. (3) Washer is 110V same as item #1 above. (4) For dryer there is a large size outlet (I assume similar to one you will find in a typical USA home) and voltage feed is 220V. (5) Oven uses the same outlet as items #4 above. In addition the storeroom attached to my gae has one available 220V outlet same as item #4. (6) Housing installed one 220V outlet in kitchen. Please note the size is similar to item #1 above, only difference is one of the prong is turned 90-degrees.
Most of the items you buy from Saudi are 220V and comes with Type G (UK) with three straight prongs plugs. Plenty of adapters available locally.

I really thank you for your answers. Hadia, pretty much all my questions were discussed at some point in time. The problem is that being an open forum it is very difficult, almost impossible to organize subjects/comments and therefore you need to do a multiple search to get a full answer for your questions.

I have found that using Google with key search words pertaining to this forum brings up faster results sometimes.
