We are trying to bring our vehicle with us to KSA. We have several compeive bids from shippers. All of them just ask for a clear le, bill of sale, and EIN. They all say that's all they are aware of needing.
When you look at the Saudi Arabia customs website for importing a vehicle it states:
Vehicles imported from other countries:
1. Submit a legal document indicating the importer's ownership of the vehicle. This document shall be attested by the Saudi commercial attaché or his duly authorized representative in the country where the vehicle purchased, or by the chamber of commerce in the exporting country.
2. Export declaration of the customs administration in the country from which the vehicle exported. The invoice and the certificate of origin shall be attached to the export declaration.
3. A document issued by the competent security authorities in the shipping country indicating that the vehicle is not wanted.
Has anyone needed any of this? Do I need to send my le to the consulate to be attested? Will the shipper handle the export declaration? What document was used as indication that the vehicle is not wanted?
Am I over-thinking this?

I don't think you are over-thinking. This is a big ticket item, so getting it right is serious business. Can anyone now in KSA who has gone through this process smoothly and successfully please post here the company you used? Perhaps more importantly, for those of you who have had trouble, please post those companies as well. Thx

Do a search of the forum. Shipping cars has been thoroughly discussed with names of companies, costs, agents in KSA and experiences.

NOLA ... I assume that means New Orleans. I just shipped mine from that the Gulf Coast area. The shipper will handle most of that info. I got a recommendation to use a local person to clear through customs here. Everything went fairly smooth. No damages. I don't recommend buying insurance but if that makes if feel better then do so. There are reasons why not to buy extra insurance which are too numerous to list. Typically, you must have a clear le in which the car has been paid off but there are exceptions.

I experienced the same when I shipped mine. Also pleased with their other services of pet transport and delivery jobs. They took care of other documentation procedures as well.
