Good news, we finally got our visas on Thursday, Sept 27th. Looks like I'll be heading to KSA on Saay, Oct 13th and my wife will follow once the house sells. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Great to hear someone got their visa, Canucks. I want to come to that Canadian BBQ! For now, I am still in Edmonton, waiting for visa try #2. I went back to Houston yesterday to re-do my medicals, because they had expired, since my visa is taking so long (first one not submitted under the correct 'block.').
I sat in on my third orientation session and learned some new things, so that was great. I also found out my department colleagues are actually anxious for me to arrive in Dhahran and have lots of work waiting - so nice to know I am needed and wanted and haven't been forgotten!

Do I need an invitation to join BBQ (s)? I thought I will be out for SA before snow starts but .....Calgary already got some. I guess in Saudi embassy there is no FIFO system. Friend of mine sent his passports two days later than me (Aug 27) and he got his passports back today and I haven't got anynews yet. Our passports were sent on Aug 24 and still "nothing". I'm now planning to buy winter clothes which I postponed earlier! Don't forget that I'll be joining all BBQ's as an intruder(if no invitation)!!! Good luck All
