So far the process was going smoothly until I got call from FedEx that our family Canadian passport which were sent to SA(AB to TX) for visa stamps are held by custom in Memphis, TN, US. Further FedEx agent told me that US. Ustom may cease these passports permanently as these are under banned items and illegal to send travel documents to other country. Also the US custom opened the package and verified passport info and what not. Isn't a breach of privacy? There were personal info in the package and US. Custom opened this package without my knowledge and still is not clearing it. I'm bit worried now as the pkg is stil not deliver at SA office in TX. Because of EDO Friday and weekend couldnt get hold of my relocation advisor. Is it normal that US do these security checks on each pkg includes passports or I was random victim of their act. Anyone with similar experience? Any idea how to deal with this issue? FedEx says that they can't do much on this issue as this matter is with US custom where they don't have control to push them to release pkg.

Hi, I am really sorry to hear your experience. Did you write or identify on the Fedex the contents being passports. I would imagine ASC receives many passports from Canada. A few Canadian have already sent and received there visa  Can Canadian's directly send their passports to Ottawa Embassy ? |

Up to now pkg is still not delivered..
I haven't mentioned on the pkg about passports.

Wow man that sucks...
Any updates about your passports? I sent my passports last week and they arrived safely (thank )... can't you get the passports back and perhaps send them yourself to Ottawa for visas?

Thanks ...Passports are now released and arrived at ASC office; however my relocation Advisor was also surprised and promised me to tell the upper management about this incident. She told me that she never heard such thing before. Anyways,I might be victimies because of my name (mentioned as sendors)....don't want to go the depth on this issue anymore as everybody knows which names are considered suspecious in USA.
